Differentiated instruction is grounded in the
belief that there is variability among any group of learners. These
student
characteristics
include:
 |
Affect: refers to how students feel about themselves, their work,
and their classroom. |
 |
Interest: refers to topics that students want to explore and their
engagement in learning. |
 |
Learning profile: refers to cognitive styles (visual - auditory- kinesthetic
- tactile), grouping preference (individual - small group - large group),
and environmental factors (room arrangement and space, noise level,
temperature, lighting, etc.). |
 |
Readiness: refers to students' skill levels and background knowledge.
