  1. Differentiated instruction is grounded in the belief that there is variability among any group of learners. These student characteristics include:

Affect: refers to how students feel about themselves, their work, and their classroom.

Interest: refers to topics that students want to explore and their engagement in learning.

Learning profile: refers to cognitive styles (visual - auditory- kinesthetic - tactile), grouping preference (individual - small group - large group), and environmental factors (room arrangement and space, noise level, temperature, lighting, etc.).

Readiness: refers to students' skill levels and background knowledge.
